Ira Nata Pradja

In Indonesian Art, very few ladies dare to express themselves
through abstraction style. An exceptional abstract feeling emerged
in the work of a young Sundanese lady named Ira Nata Pradja.

Born in 1979 in Subang ( West Java ), Ira went at the Academy of
Fine Arts in Jakarta (IKJ), studied painting under the French artist
Dhaimeler and learned graphic art with the Indonesian artist Sudar. Considered as one of the leading abstract young artist in Indonesia, her artistic inspiration is deeply influenced by her daily
surroundings and developed with the visits to numerous museums
and galleries in Asia and Europe.

Selected Works

Ira describes her works as poems dedicated to beauty of life. All of her paintings are open
windows inviting to share the dream, a feast of colors reaching to the soul. Her works are
pulsated with joy and youthful. Each painting is her way to express and communicate
happiness for herself and spectators.

Living in Jakarta, Ira has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Indonesia, Japan
and France. Her major solo exhibitions were presented in Jakarta (2001 & 2003) and
Bangkok (2002).

The exhibition was held on 30 May 2006 - 02 July 2006
